Tutu Cute!

So, while we're in China, Charlie and I decided that we would do a little dance class with the girls. And, along with that idea came the idea of getting tutus to bring to them to dress up with and leave there to have fun in. :) So.... yesterday and today we got together and made some adorable little tutus! It took LOTS and LOTS of tulle, some elastic, sewing of elastic, lots of knotting, cutting, and hours of Gilmore Girls, but we made some sweet tutus that will make some precious children happy:) Here are a few pictures... Mei Lin wasn't too happy to try them on, she's such a tom boy sometimes! haha. :)

ALSO, we went shopping last night for everything we need for China. Everything from meds, food, stuff for the children and nannies. This is a picture of my suit case ALREADY. I haven't even put my clothes in it... I have a feeling I'm going to be doing alot of re-arranging in the next few weeks. haha.

Visiting Orphans

This is the blog where I will be posting all my thoughts and updates of my mission trip to China:) I am less than 15 days away from boarding an airplane that takes me to China!

This past spring when my mom and I were talking about taking a mission trip somewhere this summer, she kept bringing up how cool it would be to go to Africa, and where I thought so too, for some reason I never really got fired up for going to Africa. But then we suggested going to China and working in an orphanage and I couldn't have been more excited for something. But why China? Honestly... I'm not sure. I have always loved China, ever since I was a little girl. Thier culture, people, and history. In the past 5 years we have adopted two beautiful girls from China, and I was fortunate enought to travel both times and loved it! I believe that this is something God has laid on Charlie and I's heart, a calling to care for and love on these kids. I cannot wait to go and visit the orphanage and play with the children there. I have always had a heart for orphans and cannot wait to share Christ's love with these kids.

For the trip, we will (after almost 1 1/2 days of traveling!) visit an orphanage in Chenzhou, Hunan everyday and help out. Basically playing with the kids. We will be doing anything from helping with the babies to doing crafts and activities with the older kids. It will be an exciting experience to be able to play with these kids and get to know them over the period of time we have there.

SO, this is where I will be updating everyone on my trip. HOPEFULLY, that is. Sometimes blogs are blocked in China, but if so, I will be able to email my mom my update so she can post them here for me. :) Only 15 more days... let the countdown begin!
